AYURVEDIC BODY THERAPIES
(only in-person*)

$350 | 120 MINS

A two-hour delight for your soul, body, and mind with individually tailored bodywork that will leave you feeling blissful and rejuvenated.

Before the treatment commences, the practitioner may conduct a brief consultation to assess your current state of health and determine the most suitable therapies for you. They will also explain the benefits of each therapy and what to expect during the session, including any sensations or reactions you may experience. Your Ayurvedic practitioner will guide you through the session and explain the chosen therapies in detail. Depending on your Dosha, preferences, and imbalances, you may opt for a variety of Ayurvedic body therapies, such as:

✺ ABHYANGA ✺ SWEDANA ✺ SHIRODHARA ✺ BASTI

  • - Abhyanga is a traditional Ayurvedic therapy that involves the application of warm herbal oils infused with medicinal herbs. This therapeutic massage is performed with gentle, rhythmic strokes that follow the direction of energy flow in the body, promoting relaxation, detoxification, and rejuvenation. Abhyanga not only nourishes the skin but also enhances circulation, relieves muscle tension, and calms the nervous system. It is often recommended as a daily self-care practice to support overall health and well-being.

    - Swedana, meaning "sweating" in Sanskrit, is a form of Ayurvedic steam therapy that complements treatments such as Abhyanga. During Swedana, the body is gently heated using steam generated from herbal decoctions or aromatic oils. This promotes sweating, which aids in the elimination of toxins, opens the pores, and facilitates the absorption of therapeutic oils and herbs into the body. Swedana is renowned for its ability to alleviate stiffness, improve circulation, and promote relaxation, leaving the body feeling light, refreshed, and deeply cleansed.

    - Shirodhara is a profoundly relaxing Ayurvedic therapy that involves a continuous stream of warm herbal oil poured in a gentle, rhythmic flow over the forehead (the "third eye" or Ajna chakra). This soothing technique induces a state of deep relaxation, calms the mind, and harmonizes the nervous system. Shirodhara is renowned for its ability to alleviate stress, anxiety, insomnia, and mental fatigue. It is often used as a therapeutic tool to promote mental clarity, enhance concentration, and cultivate a profound sense of inner peace and tranquility.

    - Basti: Basti, meaning "container" or "retention," refers to a series of Ayurvedic therapeutic enemas that are administered to address specific health concerns and imbalances. There are various types of Basti, including Janu Basti (knee therapy), Kati Basti (low-back therapy), and Hrid Basti (heart therapy), each targeting different areas of the body. These enemas typically involve the retention of herbal oils, medicated decoctions, or other healing substances in a dough dam placed over the affected area. Basti therapies are renowned for their ability to alleviate pain, inflammation, stiffness, and other musculoskeletal issues, as well as to support detoxification, nourish tissues, and promote overall well-being.

These therapies offer holistic support for physical, mental, and energetic well-being, promoting optimal health and harmony.
